Why hotels don’t use wireless door bell?

Actually this title could be divided to two part- why not use door bell and why not use wireless door bell.

Because in fact, not many hotels use regular doorbells, forget about wireless door bell.

Doorbell is not very popular among hotels. So why few hotel use doorbell?

In my opinion, there are two main reasons why doorbells are rarely used in hotels.

1.Hotel is a business.All hardware investments should be spent in the correct place.

One room of hotel will need door, door lock, lamp, TV, bed, air condition, etc. All this items are essential.

For example, if no locks, how guest lock the door?

If no bed, how guest go sleep?

Spending as little money as possible to get the hotel up and running is the investor’s goal. So why buy a doorbell?

And no doorbell not effect hotel buisness because people have hand and throat.Just like follows

And in many economically underdeveloped countries, Hotel budgets are very tight,likes thailand.
The hotel facilities are very basic. Doorbell? No way.
Even locks are old type.

In 2015 I have been in a hotel in guam for one week.I went there to train the hotel staff how use hotel lock software.

That hotel has two towers, and total have more than 400 rooms.
It has running 20 years, and there is no doorbell in each room.

The hotel is 4 star level and 200USD per night.
This points to the fact that the absence of doorbells does not affect hotel business at all.

However, not every hotel is like that.With the continuous development of modern hotel industry, hotel forms tend to be diversified.

More hotels are willing prvide a better experience rather than just basic facility.
But now, They have to spent a lot, on current solution to provide better experiences.

2.Current solution all are wired.It is a hard work.

They have to choose the wired solution.There is no other choice.
And wiring is a hard work, it has many many requirements of installation environment.
This is the answer to the title’s 2nd question.
All wired wall-mounted solution need electrical constructions.

Electrical construction means

1. It should be wired, and powered by DC/AC power supply via wires
2. Hotel should drill holes on wall and put it in a pocket of wall.
3. Hotel should pay for the labor cost to do all works. and the working time may 10 hours per room.
4. Total cost will be huge, for example 100 rooms is 1000hours.1000hours labor cost.
5. Electricity bill will have a large number on it.

For example the vingacard Allure, it has the door bell feature.
But it is a wired solution.

The electrical construction has blocked many hotels from trying to use it.

Think about it, who want drilling wall to just use a doorbell?Labor costs are rising sharply all over the world.

Look at the home use wireless doorbell, it has no use thresholds. As a add-on solution, it can easily add to any family house.

The relationship between global hotels and doorbells is Two poles.

By conventional logic, programs must be written by hand by programmers.Now there is no code programming in world.

There are many other examples where any attempt to make things easier has succeeded.  

The things that made things complicated were eliminated finally.

I am thinking, maybe one day the hotel does not need the door, then is the door lock industry also to be eliminated?
